Our commitment to fostering an inclusive, safe, and respectful environment for all participants at Lumbini Tech Month.
Our Purpose
Lumbini Tech Month is dedicated to providing a harassment-free and inclusive event experience for everyone regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or technical skill level. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. We expect all participants to adhere to this Code of Conduct at all event venues and event-related social activities.

Be Respectful
Treat everyone with respect and kindness. We are all here to learn and grow together.
Be Inclusive
Welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities. Diversity strengthens our community.
Be Professional
Maintain professionalism in all interactions. Keep discussions constructive and focused.
Be Fair
Give credit where it's due. Respect intellectual property and collaborate ethically.
Expected Behavior
We encourage all participants to:
- Using welcoming and inclusive language
- Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
- Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
- Focusing on what is best for the community
- Showing empathy towards other community members
- Participating actively and authentically
- Exercising consideration and respect in speech and actions
- Attempting collaboration before conflict
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are considered unacceptable and will not be tolerated:
- Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any form
- Violent threats or language directed against another person
- Sexist, racist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language
- Posting sexually explicit or violent material
- Sharing private information without explicit permission
- Personal insults or attacks
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behaviors
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:
- Warning the offender
- Expulsion from the event without refund
- Banning from future events
- Reporting to appropriate authorities if necessary
Reporting Guidelines
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please report it as soon as possible to event staff or organizers. You can identify them by their official ID / Badges or contact them through:
- • Speaking directly to event organizers on-site
- • Emailing us through our contact page
- • Approaching any team member with an official ID or Badges
All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality. We are committed to investigating and resolving all complaints fairly and promptly.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all Lumbini Tech Month spaces, including workshops, talks, social events, online communications, and any other event-related activities. It also applies to behavior outside event spaces when such behavior has the potential to adversely affect the safety and well-being of community members.
